Reflection: Peter closes his letter by pointing away from human strength and toward the God of all grace. Grace saved you, but grace is not the doorway into faith. It sustains you when pressure tears at your life. Peter describes God as the One who restores, confirms, strengthens, and establishes His people. The word translated “restore” carried the picture of mending a fishing net. A damaged net was not discarded; it was repaired until it could be useful again. God treats wounded people with that care. Failure may have left holes in your confidence. Grief may have changed the shape of your life. Suffering may have weakened places that once felt strong. None of that makes you disposable. God’s grace is at work, drawing torn places together. Your confidence is not that you can hold yourself together. Your confidence is that God will hold you and finish what His grace began.

Application Question: What torn or weakened place in your life do you need to entrust to God’s patient, restoring grace?
