Monday: Power Received, Not Achieved

Reflection: Jesus did not tell His disciples to manufacture power or improve
themselves until they became useful. He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit. The power
they needed would be received, not achieved. That distinction matters for you. You may
begin the week feeling behind or tired. Your instinct may be to work harder, organize
better, or promise God that you will try more seriously. But Christian witness does not
begin with effort. It begins with dependence. The Holy Spirit is not reserved for pastors,
missionaries, or gifted Christians. He is God’s presence in believers, supplying courage,
wisdom, and strength for the places Jesus sends you. You do not have to create a
moment today. Acknowledge your need, ask the Spirit to fill you, and remain attentive.
The person, conversation, or opportunity in front of you may be where Jesus intends His
power to become visible through your life.
