Reflection: Naomi once said she came home empty. By Ruth 4, she is holding Obed in her arms. That moment does not erase the graves she had stood beside. It does not make her grief imaginary or small. It does show, however, that emptiness was not the end of her story. You need that reminder when loss has narrowed your vision. Pain can convince you that the chapter you are in is the whole book. Ruth teaches you to be honest about grief without giving grief the final word. God may not restore everything in the way or timing you would choose. In Christ, restoration is not a vague hope. It is a promise. One day, every tear will be wiped away, and all things will be made new. Until then, you can trust that empty places are still places where God can work in grace today through His mercy.
Application Question: What empty place in your life do you need to bring honestly before God instead of assuming the story is over?
