Reflection:
Shame often begins with a voice. A criticism. A comparison. A memory. A sentence someone spoke years ago that still plays louder than the truth of God. In Genesis 3, God asks Adam, “Who told you that you were naked?” God was exposing the source of Adam’s shame. He still asks that question with tenderness. Who told you that you are failing? Who told you your past disqualifies you? Who told you God could never use you? Who told you your influence does not matter? Not every voice deserves authority in your life. If a thought drives you to hide from God, it is not the Father’s voice. Conviction draws you home. Condemnation pushes you away. Today, name the lie you have been living under and bring it into God’s presence. His voice is louder, truer, and kinder than shame has ever been before, even now, for you today.
Application Question:
What voice or lie have you allowed to speak louder than what God says about you?
