Reflection: When a crisis threatened Apollo 13, the astronauts could not receive
another shipment from Earth. The materials required for their repair were already
onboard; they needed help recognizing and using what had been provided. Peter offers
you a greater assurance: God’s divine power has granted everything necessary for life
and godliness. This does not mean you possess every answer or no longer need
believers. It means God has not left you unequipped. You have His Spirit, His promises,
His Word, and His people. Yet you may live as though growth must wait for a sermon, a
feeling, or a season. God may use all those things, but your transformation does not
depend upon ideal circumstances. Begin by thanking Him for what He has already
supplied. Instead of asking only, “What am I missing?” ask, “What has God already
given me that I am neglecting, resisting, or failing to trust today?”

Application Question: Which resource God has already provided—His Spirit,
promises, Word, or people—have you been neglecting, and how can you receive it
more fully?
