Reflection: When someone hurts you, your instinct may be to return the same energy. A sharp word invites a sharper one. Silence becomes punishment. Retelling the story becomes a way to gather support and make the other person pay. Peter gives you another path: bless instead of retaliate. Blessing does not mean calling evil good or pretending the wound did not matter. It means refusing to let another person’s sin shape your character. You can set boundaries without hatred. You can pursue justice without revenge. You can pray for someone while acknowledging the damage caused. This is difficult because it requires strength beyond your ability. But Jesus has treated you with mercy when you deserved judgment. His grace becomes the pattern for your response. Ask Him to show you one practical way to bless rather than repay. Your witness becomes visible when love is hardest, not when kindness is easy.

Application Question: What practical act of blessing could replace retaliation toward someone who has hurt you?
