Reflection:
Once you know you are welcomed by the Father, Jesus teaches you to lift your eyes: “Hallowed be your name.” Worship reorders your heart. It does not ignore your problems, but it puts them back in their proper place under the greatness of God. When prayer is only problem-focused, your worries can start to feel larger than the One you are praying to. Worship reminds you that God is holy, faithful, wise, near, and worthy before your circumstances change. This room of prayer slows anxious thoughts and teaches your soul to breathe again. Today, do not rush past worship on your way to requests. Name what is true about God. Thank Him for who He is. Let His character become the first reality you rehearse. You may find that your burdens are still real, but they are no longer sitting on the throne of your heart. Let praise lead forward.
Application Question:
When you pray, what do you tend to rehearse more: the size of your problems or the character of your Father?
