Reflection: You probably have a voice you return to when you need reassurance: a preacher, a podcast, a friend, or an account you follow. Familiarity can make someone feel trustworthy before you have examined what they are saying. Peter warns that destructive teaching can emerge within the community of faith. Its danger is not always obvious. A message may sound spiritual while making room for desires Jesus calls you to surrender. Popularity does not make that message faithful. This is an invitation to discernment, not suspicion of everyone. You can appreciate a teacher and still examine a claim. You can enjoy a message and still ask whether it agrees with Scripture in context. Choose one voice influencing you. Notice where its teaching leads your decisions. Does it help you receive correction, practice self-control, and honor Jesus? Bring your questions to God, and ask a mature believer to explore them with you.
Application Question: Which voice most influences how you justify your choices, and how will you examine its message against Scripture this week?
