Reflection: Nothing terrible happened after the angry outburst. The dishonest explanation worked. The habit you keep hidden has not been discovered. It can be tempting to read the absence of consequences as evidence that everything is fine. Paul gives you a different way to understand God's patience. His kindness is meant to lead you toward repentance. Time to change is a gift, not reassurance that change is unnecessary. Before you picture someone else's behavior, notice where this lands in your own life. What have you gradually stopped resisting? What excuse sounds reasonable because you have repeated it so often? You do not need to wait for your choices to unravel before turning around. Jesus welcomes honest confession. Name the behavior plainly, without softening it or blaming someone else. Then choose a boundary that supports obedience. God's patience gives you room to respond today. Receive that kindness by taking the next step.
Application Question: Where have you mistaken God’s patience for permission, and what concrete change would express repentance today?
