Reflection: Fear gets loud when pressure rises. You may fear losing approval, damaging your reputation, facing conflict, or being unable to control the outcome. Peter does not tell you to pretend those fears are small. He tells you to set Christ apart as Lord in your heart. That means deciding, before the conversation or confrontation, who truly has authority over you. Your critic is not lord. Your circumstances are not lord. The outcome you fear is not lord. Jesus is Lord. When that truth settles, fear loses its power. You can speak honestly without being harsh. You can remain calm without becoming passive. You can obey God even when it costs you. Begin today by surrendering the areas where fear has been directing your choices. Tell Jesus what you are afraid of, then place that concern beneath His authority. Peace grows when your heart remembers who is still on the throne.
Application Question: What feared outcome have you allowed to carry more authority in your heart than Jesus?
