Reflection: Peter says God’s promises allow you to become a “partaker of the divine
nature.” That does not mean you become divine or turn into God. It means the Holy
Spirit shares God’s life with you and forms the character of Jesus within you. Your
desires, reactions, priorities, and relationships can reflect Him. This transformation is
more than appearing religious. You can attend church, know language, and maintain
behavior while protecting bitterness, pride, fear, or selfish ambition. The Spirit wants
access to those places too. His goal is not to make you louder, stranger, or more
impressive. His work produces love, holiness, courage, patience, and self-control.
Consider one moment when your response looked more like the surrounding culture
than Jesus. Do not hide it or excuse it. Bring it honestly before God. The same divine
power that exposes what needs changing also supplies what you need to become more
like Christ.
Application Question: Which attitude, desire, or reaction in your life currently looks
least like Jesus, and what change might the Spirit be inviting you to make?
