Reflection: Peter does not hide the tension. You are God’s possession, but you are still a sojourner and exile. You belong to Christ, but your flesh still wages war against your soul. That is why conduct matters. Not because your activity creates your identity, but because your identity should begin shaping your activity. The world may not understand your convictions. Some may even misrepresent them. Peter’s answer is not panic, compromise, or constant argument. He says to live honorably. Let your life give evidence of God’s goodness. That starts in ordinary places: how you respond when criticized, what you do with temptation, how you speak about others, how quickly you return after failure. One stumble does not have to become a pattern. Do not make peace with what is trying to kill your soul. Today, live like someone called from darkness into marvelous light, because that is exactly who you are.
