Reflection: You have heard a message this week that sounded convincing. Perhaps it came from a sermon, a video, or a friend. The Bereans show you how to listen with openness and care. They welcomed Paul's message and examined the Scriptures daily to see whether it was true.
You can practice that today. Choose one teaching that influences how you live, especially one that gives you something you want. Write the claim in a sentence. Find the passage offered to support it. Read the surrounding paragraph. Ask whether the claim fits what you read and the rest of Scripture.
If you are unsure, bring the question to a pastor or mature believer. You are learning together, not trying to win an argument.
Then take the step. Surrender an excuse, confess a sin, or change a practice. Let God's Word correct you where your preferences have been directing you. Begin with obedience.
Application Question: Which teaching will you examine, and what specific response will you make if Scripture challenges what you want to believe?
