Reflection: You may be praying for a body to heal, a painful season to end, or someone you love to get better. When an answer takes longer than you hoped, a promise of guaranteed relief can become attractive.
Romans gives you room to breathe. You can belong to Christ, have his Spirit, and still groan. Your suffering does not mean that God has forgotten you. The redemption of your body is something you still await.
That does not make prayer pointless. As Sunday's message reminded you, James calls you to seek prayer for healing. Romans teaches you to wait with hope. You need both passages to shape your expectations.
Today, ask God for the healing you desire. Then entrust the waiting to him. You do not have to manufacture certainty about tomorrow's outcome. You can rest in the promise that Christ will complete your redemption. His future gives your patience purpose.
Application Question: How could you pray honestly for relief while allowing Scripture to shape what you expect from God during the waiting?
