Reflection: You can struggle with sin and still turn toward Jesus for help. Bringing your failure into the light is different from deciding that you no longer need his correction. Sunday's warning should make you attentive, but it need not make every stumble feel like proof that Christ has abandoned you.
Hebrews directs your attention to today. Sin deceives you. An excuse repeated often enough can begin to sound like truth. A conviction ignored long enough can grow quiet. You need to keep listening while God is speaking.
You also need other believers. Encouragement includes the friend who asks about the place you keep avoiding. Receiving that question may feel uncomfortable, but it can help keep your heart tender.
If you recognize resistance in yourself, respond now. Confess what you have defended. Ask someone to walk with you. You can turn toward Christ today, even before you feel ready to change.
Application Question: What correction have you been resisting, and who could help you respond to it honestly this week?
