Reflection: The genealogy at the end of Ruth can feel like a quiet ending, but it is actually the moment the camera pulls back. Ruth’s ordinary faithfulness was never only about Ruth. Naomi’s story was never only about Naomi. Boaz’s obedience was never only about Boaz. God was weaving their lives into a story that would lead to David, and eventually to Jesus. You usually cannot see that much of your own story. You see the field, the waiting, the hard conversation, the small act of obedience. God sees what He is building through it. That means your faithfulness matters, even when it feels hidden. Praying with your children matters. Serving quietly matters. Forgiving matters. Showing up matters. The future God is shaping may reach farther than you can imagine. Do not despise the next faithful step simply because it looks small today in this season too for His glory alone.
Application Question: What ordinary act of faithfulness do you need to keep doing, even if you cannot yet see what God is building through it?
