Reflection:
Boaz was a redeemer, someone with the relationship, right, and resources to step into another person’s loss. That is why Ruth 2 is bigger than Ruth and Naomi. Boaz points beyond himself to Jesus, the greater Redeemer. Jesus did not stand at a distance from your need. He stepped into your brokenness, carried your sin, paid your debt, and opened the way for you to belong to God. Boaz gave Ruth food, protection, kindness, and hope. Christ gives more. He gives forgiveness, adoption, eternal life, and Himself. The deepest question is not whether you believe God can arrange circumstances. The deepest question is whether you have come under the wings of Christ. You do not have to keep surviving in the field on your own. Grace is not only around you. In Jesus, grace has come for you. Run to Him today. He is able and near to save you.
Application Question:
Where are you still trying to survive, provide, or redeem yourself instead of taking refuge under the grace and lordship of Christ?
