Monday: More Than a Patch

Reflection: You know what it feels like to want God to fix the thing that hurts right now. You pray for relief, clarity, provision, or a door to open. There is nothing wrong with that. Naomi and Ruth needed food, and God gave them grain. But Ruth 4 reminds you that God’s redemption is bigger than getting through the week. Boaz does not simply keep Ruth supplied with leftovers from the field. He goes to the gate and secures a future. That is how God works in you, too. He cares about today’s hunger, but He is also shaping tomorrow’s hope. Sometimes you settle for a patch because a patch feels faster, easier, and safer. But Jesus did not come to barely hold your life together. He came to redeem you fully, deeply, and forever. The present matters, but it is not the whole story. God is building something that lasts.
Application Question: Where are you asking God only for temporary relief when He may be inviting you into deeper redemption?
