Reflection: You do not have to earn your way into God’s family today. In Christ, your identity is received before it is displayed. Peter does not begin by telling believers to work harder so God might finally claim them. He says they are chosen, royal, holy, and God’s own possession. That means your obedience matters, but it is not the foundation of your belonging. Christ is. You may walk into Monday carrying labels from yesterday: failure, tired, overlooked, inconsistent, not enough. But God gives you a truer name. You are His. When that settles deep in your heart, it changes the way you approach everything else. You do not serve to prove yourself. You serve because you belong. You do not fight sin to become loved. You fight sin because you already are deeply loved. Today, start with identity, not activity. Let God’s word name you before the world does again.
Application Question: What label have you been carrying that needs to be replaced with what God says is true of you in Christ?
