Reflection: Some days you feel out of place before breakfast. The world around you has its own values, pace, and definition of success, and following Jesus can make you feel like you are walking against traffic. Peter does not treat that as strange. He calls believers “elect exiles.” You are chosen by God, and you are not fully home here. Both are true at the same time. That means your discomfort is not proof that God has forgotten you. It may be the reminder that you belong to another kingdom. You do not have to force this world to satisfy the ache only Christ can fill. When life feels foreign, you can stop asking why everything is not easier and start praying, “Father, remind me where I truly belong.” You are not home yet, but you are not abandoned. He knows you, keeps you, and walks with you again even today.
Application Question: Where have you been expecting this world to give you the peace, belonging, or security that only Jesus can give?
