Reflection: Paul connects sound teaching with a sound life. That matters because it is possible to know true things about God while remaining impatient, reactive, or unkind. Healthy doctrine is not information you can explain; it is truth that Jesus uses to reshape your character. Faith should steady you, love should soften you, and perseverance should deepen you. Growing older does not produce this kind of maturity. Experience can make you wiser, but it can also make you guarded or cynical if you do not surrender it to Christ. Today, resist the temptation to measure spiritual health by how long you have attended church or how much Scripture you know. Instead, notice what your life is producing. Where is grace making you calmer, kinder, freer, and more faithful? God is not finished forming you. Whatever your age, He wants the truth you believe to become a life someone else can follow.
Application Question: What change in your reactions, relationships, or habits would show that the truth you believe is becoming a healthier life?
