Monday: Who Is Really in Control?

Reflection: Submission often feels difficult because it exposes how deeply you want control. You may gladly follow directions when you agree with them, but resistance rises when an authority disappoints you, misunderstands you, or makes a decision you would not make. Peter does not tell you that every authority is wise or good. He reminds you that God remains sovereign over every imperfect system and person. Your submission is ultimately “for the Lord’s sake.” That means your attitude, words, and actions become an expression of trust in God. You are not declaring that people are always right. You are declaring that God is still on the throne. Today, notice where irritation begins to build in you. Before reacting, pause and ask what your response will reveal about the One you trust. Faith is often displayed through quiet, ordinary choices to remain respectful, honest, and steady when you would rather take control.
