Thursday: Wake Up to Wonder

Reflection: It is possible to grow casual toward the very gospel heaven cannot stop marveling over. Peter says the prophets searched carefully for the grace now announced to you, and angels long to look into these things. That means the salvation you may rush past on an ordinary Thursday is not ordinary at all. You have heard news that saints longed to understand and heavenly beings behold with wonder. Jesus suffered. Jesus rose. Jesus cleanses sinners. Jesus gives living hope to exiles on the road. When your faith feels dull, you may not need something new as much as you need to wake up to what you have already received. Open your Bible slowly. Sing with attention. Pray with gratitude. Speak the gospel to your own tired heart. What feels familiar is still glorious. The grace of God has reached you, and that should never become background noise in your soul.
