Reflection: Peter says holiness starts with belonging. You are not obeying God so He will finally claim you. You obey because, in Christ, you already belong to Him. That changes the tone of holiness. It is not cold rule-keeping or religious performance. It is learning to live like a child of the Father. But children still have to leave behind what no longer fits the family. Old bitterness, lust, pride, comparison, gossip, greed, control, and spiritual laziness may feel familiar, but familiar does not mean fruitful. Jesus did not redeem you so you could keep packing the old road for the new journey. Today, ask the Spirit to help you name one former pattern honestly. Not everything at once. Just one. The Father who calls you holy is patient, but He is also serious about freedom. You cannot walk toward home while clinging to what keeps turning you around again.
