Reflection: A newborn does not need a lecture about hunger. Hunger is built in. Peter says believers should long for the pure spiritual milk of God’s word with that same honest need. Not because Bible reading checks a religious box, but because your soul was made to grow by receiving what God gives. Some days, you will come to Scripture eager. Other days, distracted. Some days, you will feel strong. Other days, you will come like David in Psalm 34, surrounded by trouble and needing refuge. Still, Peter says you have tasted that the Lord is good. Remember that taste. Return to it. Open the Word not to impress God, but to meet with Him. Come hungry, even if all you can bring is a weak appetite and a tired heart. Growth usually happens one small meal at a time. Today, come to Christ and let His goodness steady you again.
Application Question: What would it look like for you to approach God’s Word this week as nourishment rather than obligation?
