Reflection: Receiving wisdom requires humility. Proverbs describes a learner who listens, holds fast and treasures wisdom because it gives life. Teachability can feel costly. Asking for help means admitting that you do not know what to do. Listening to an older believer may require you to look past differences in style, language, or experience. Teachability can save you from learning every lesson through failure. God may place someone whose life contains answers to questions you have begun asking. You are not looking for perfection. Look for someone whose faith has remained steady, whose marriage reflects grace, whose words are kind, or whose endurance has survived hardship. Then take initiative. Ask them how God shaped them. Invite them to meet with you once a month. Bring honest questions. Their perspective will not replace Scripture or the Spirit, but God may use their presence to help you recognize His voice and walk wisely.
